After we have been through the process of starting new small groups, it’s time for the follow-up phase. I’m going to let you in on all of my secrets. Truth is I really don’t have any, but I can share with you what I’ve learned along the way. I’ve learned that checklists really prevent me from making mistakes – so I use them in my follow up workflow

New Small Group Leader Follow Up Workflow Week 1

After the very first meeting, sometime that week before the 2nd meeting I’ll make sure I ask the following questions from the checklist.

  1. How did the meeting space work? Is there something that would make it better?
  2. How did the material work, is there anything that needs tweaking?
  3. Did you understand the attendance process?
  4. As far as people go, were there any problem people?
  5. How can I pray for your group?

Conclusions about New Small Group Leader Workflow

So there you have it, those are the questions I use to follow up with new small group leaders during the first month. I try to give my new group leaders a personal phone call or face to face conversation each week of that first month. I feel like it provides a level of care that is needed at the beginning.
