As I wait for what seems like forever on my garden to get going, I came across this approach to planting perennials instead of annuals. It made me wish that I had a few perennials planted so that I’d already be enjoying my produce right now. You see, we have had a really hot April – 10 to 20 degrees above normal. My lettuce isn’t really doing much. My pepper transplants wilted even with daily watering. Spinach is looking pretty goofy, while my green onions haven’t really appeared. At least the heat is good for getting a lawn to look nice… Even as a Christian who values God’s creation, I’m pretty down on my garden right now…
