According to an article here, “Over 30 of the world’s 47 largest rivers, which collectively account for half of the global runoff of freshwater, are under at least “moderate” threat…” .

This makes me think that I should vote/campaign for better local laws on protecting rivers. On a related issue, I’m wondering if the runoff from all the fertilizers used in agriculture is to blame for a large portion of this. Organic methods would seem to offer a partial solution to this problem, since organic methods don’t use harsh chemicals – which can pollute rivers.
